• STAR headed the steering committee that created the California school age after school law and policy in partnership with 10th district PTA in California Care Licensing.
• Selected as a “Model Program” by the White House by Vice President, Al Gore.
• Selected as a “Model Program” by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Founded the award-winning and internationally recognized STAR ECO STATION (Exotic Wildlife Rescue Facility and Children’s Museum).
• STAR ECO STATION received an Award for Youth Environmental Education from the United Nations - Geneva, Switzerland
• Developed and taught a USC credit course for classroom teachers - “Why the Grey Matters” (Neuroscience instruction).
• Developed and taught a professional development program for LACOE
(Los Angeles County Office of Education) for classroom teachers - “Why the Grey Matters 2”
(Neuroscience professional development program).
• Developed the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association’s state standards for after-school arts in partnership with LACOE (Los Angeles County Office of Education).
• Presenters at the CAG (California Association for the Gifted) Convention.
• Produced the annual Student Art Gallery for the National BOOST Convention (Best Out of School Time).
• Voted by Los Angeles Parents and chosen by LA Parent Magazine as: The Best After School Program, The Best Early Childhood Program, The Best Summer Camp, The Best Art Program, The Best Educational/Tutoring Program.
• Event productions: STAR ECO STATION Children’s Earth Day (Largest children’s Earth Day in LA - over 20K in attendance for over 20 years); African American Art Festival (Student art gallery and performances), STEAM Nation at West LA College in partnership with LACOE & LAUSD serving districts throughout LA County; Night on Broadway (DTLA Arts and Culture event) - STAR hosted the children’s city block section featuring STEAM events.
