WHAT WE DO
In STAR’s Woodworking classes, highly trained instructors not only help students enhance their woodworking talents, but also enrich their understanding of the history and mechanics of wood crafting. Teachers expose students to examples of Master Crafted pieces such as musical instruments, furniture and sculpture, encouraging them to incorporate other creative disciplines into their wooden masterpieces. The combination of hands-on instruction and exposure to all the various aspects of the craft allows students to think both practically and creatively about the most rewarding and effective ways to delve into woodworking endeavors.

WHAT WE OFFER
Our trained and experienced instructors introduce students to the world of woodworking as part of STAR Nova, our after-school enrichment program for students K-6.

Students master basic wood crafting techniques and safety practices as they increase their skill and ability to build and create with wood

STAR also offers a Woodworking Bus that can visit up to 5 schools each session. The bus serves as a mobile classroom, featuring individualized work benches for each student and enough room to accommodate tools, projects, and as many as 10 participants, along with one of our skilled instructors. In addition, we offer:

Our woodworking instructors come from creative backgrounds that also incorporate other artistic endeavors such as music, sculpture, and architecture. With each teacher offering his or her own unique, imaginative spin on woodworking, no two classes are ever the same!
