Last night, the STAR GATE dept had another successful night in Torrance. We had a class on chemistry in which the students modeled several basic molecules using Zome Tools. We must give credit to our friend, Steve Yoshinaga, who developed the Molecular Mania curriculum.

Our other class was on Bridge Building. Students with very little experience using Zome were able to design bridges of gorgeous complexity in less than 45 minutes. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Tina Lease, Elizabeth Madrigal and Ian Riddell were our teachers.

Well, the Zomies out at Franklin have done it again. No sooner does the Model of the Month hit the website at zometools.com, those kids have built it. The model was called “Sputnik”. It was designed in honor of the anniversary of the Sputnik launch in the 1960’s. Congrats Franklin Zomies!
